A PLACE FOR SURVIVORS OF INTIMATE PARTNER VIOLENCE, SEXUAL ASSAULT, AND ANY CHILDHOOD ABUSE/TRAUMA TO FIND FREEDOM.

JOHN 1:5

THE LIGHT SHINES IN DARKNESS, AND THE DARKNESS HAS NOT OVERCOME IT.

Why I Became a Victim Advocate

Light shines in all darkness and God did not intend for us to walk in this pain. He wants to set us free. Be the Light is a place for community, empowerment, support, freedom, and most of all, love.

Testimonies

  • I desperately reached out for help when I was deeply struggling to cope in my 7 year marriage. My church connected me with Kristiana and she called me the same day. Kristiana opened my eyes that what I was experiencing was domestic violence and invited me to her Be the Light small group. This was the beginning of my journey to freedom and healing. Kristiana’s deep compassion intertwined with her years of informed experience were just what I needed to not only feel safe and cared for, but also to become educated and empowered. I have hope now. I now understand the cyclical and often insidious nature of domestic violence. I was slowly wasting away and losing hope, but through Kristiana, I had the gentle and consistent support I needed to hope again. My life and the lives of my precious children are forever changed by Kristiana’s kindness and the light she shed on my life.

  • Kristiana Poole of “Be the Light” - is just that - a shining beacon of light for survivors of abuse. I’ve had the honor of knowing and working alongside Kristiana for almost 5 years now. She approaches this work - her life’s work and mission - personally, seriously, and with the utmost tact, professionalism, and HOPE. She restores hope to those who have lost it with her trauma-informed expertise garnered over decades of personal and professional experience. She reminds those who have experienced abuse of their God-given worth and dignity that can never be taken away from them. She is forging a path of restoration and healing with God by her side. Her heart, empathy, dedication, along with God’s faithfulness and consistent provision for what He has clearly called her too, makes it a no-brainer to support her and tag along for this journey.

  • "I want to help survivors of domestic abuse, sexual assault, and child abuse," Poole explained recently as she shared her story. "...My goal is to make sure they're not alone." Because of her own trauma, Poole is well qualified to make that happen. Although her experience, sadly, came from real life and not from a classroom, that is a source of strength for her. As a result, she approaches her work with not only a level of compassion and understanding that cannot be gained from book learning, but also with a missionary zeal.
